Omaha Christian Academy's 1st Annual Serve-A-Thon

Omaha Christian Academy had its 1^st annual Serve-a-Thon fundraiser.  On September 18, 2009, all 265 OCA students, in preschool through 12^th grade, were be taught the value of serving others and good citizenship while raising funds for their school. 

OCA students participated in service projects like the following:

·         singing at a local nursing home

·         delivering sack lunches to homeless in downtown Omaha

·         working at the Open Door Mission and Omaha Street School

·         making and delivering cookies to neighboring businesses

·         assembling gift boxes for Operation Christmas Child

·         coloring pictures and writing letters (includes scripture) for overseas servicemen and women.

The success of this event was credited largely to those who will elect to sponsor the community service efforts of your child(ren). The money we raised will be used to further strengthen OCA’s commitment to academic excellence and character development. This year’s goal was to raise $35,000 dollars.
